How do you make your external harddrive readible by both Mac and Windows?Posted by admin in questions and answersI have a Seagate Expansions 1TB external hardrive and presently only my Mac can detect it and read/write to it. you need to reformat your drive to stout/fat32 format in order to be readable & editable from both systems. ntfs format can be viewed from osx, but you can’t make, edit or delete files btw.
currently your drive is in hfs format which is only accessible from osx. but there are applications which can view hfs formatted drives from windows. like this one: http://hem.bredband.net/catacombae/hfsx.html
not sure though if you can make, edit or delete files using that app.
