Computer hard drives for storage and repair

March 7th, 2010 admin No comments

The hard disk on your computer is an vital element, because you’re using it for storage of long-term studies. It uses magnetic surfaces where the data is stored digitally. In his early years in the media was removed from the actual drive and floppy drive, and others, but ultimately the drive and media (in the actual user information) is a whole body. In writing and functions are performed by reading the disk head, which is a small electro-magnet assembly. He was able to reach all sectors of the disk where data is stored. There are many spindle drives are used for rapid rotation, so that his head to read and write data quickly. Hard disk speed is one of its most vital characteristic. There are three connections on the hard disk that you want to install it on your system. The first is the connector, IDE. It is used to transmit data to and from the device. Usually there is a red line which will tell in what direction should point to the cable. The red line should always be the country’s power. New hard drives will find impossible to make mistakes because they will be limited by the small element Fang. Plug is what connects the hard drive to power. In the jumper block is the last interface you want to use. It is designed to set the device to work properly on the cable station, where indicated. Normally, if you install it at the end of the cable into Jumper must be set for the control and in the second situation – a slave. There is also a cable, select a function, but it can not work properly with certain motherboards, so it is best that it can be manually. After properly installing the hard disk, you must verify that the right BIOS, you must find. This is done by setting BIOS, where you can enter by pressing a specific key seconds after startup. This rule is where the repair starts. If you can not find the hard drive manually, and you ensure that the installation is done well, should consider a possible hardware problem. Try to listen to the noise from the hard disk. Spinning industry causes constant low level noise, which usually can be traced, if you listen carefully. This will tell you if the device really works or not. If there scratching sound, you should immediately turn off the system and your hard disk for repair by a professional because it is most likely to be mechanical failure. The internal structure of the disc and air is dust-free and therefore should never try to open it, even if you are professional. If your drive is permanently hurt, there is small chance for data recovery. This is achieved by removing the media from the device and place it on a special device for data recovery, but if there is physical hurt to the antenna of the data is most likely to come. Therefore you should always place vital data on more than one place. If you have multiple partitions provide data for others will help if they are all on one disc. Always take seriously the way in which store and use data on your hard disk. Now I will provide some information for people who are more interested in hard disk repair. The first thing is MS-DOS command called Debug. This will allow you to work in a very direct way through the machine code. Understanding that code is a very vital part of this process. For example, you can enter D40: 0, and this will give you a few lines of information. The first will tell you all ports that are available on your computer. Of course, he will see if you know the codes for F8 03, which is COM1 port F8 02 – COM2 and so on. Use the command “Q”, to exit the tank. Other useful information you need to know is why some programs do not support possible. For example, Windows 95 does not support hard disks of 32 GB. It is designed because it is not necessary for this kind of support because it was made. This is the same with the file – you can not use FAT16 if the partition size is 4 GB. You should always reckon about what is supported, because this is your final frontier. Lock the hard disk is another fascinating question. This is done through simple commands to lock or unlock. For example, if you want to lock the partition with the letter C, you must write lock C: and lock the C: to unlock it. You may encounter problems if the disk is locked when you try to install software, operating system or perform other activities requiring special write access. I will end this article with information about the recovery of lost, missing or deleted files from your hard disk. This is very vital to know because it might save you one convincing data. First ensure that the files are really deleted. Try to find them all devices, as sometimes it is possible that they are simply went. Make sure you have a backup copy of the file. If you have one, it will be simpler to recover from it. Many operating systems are in the Trash or Recycle Bin if you mistakenly delete a file you can find it there. If you can not restore files, and if it really is deleted, you should know that the only connection to the file system was deleted. Now the vital thing is not to write more about running, because the file you are trying to recover is marked as free space and can be removed completely if you write data to it. To restore the lost data using free software such as Undelete Plus or buy better, if deemed necessary. This is also a excellent time to consider professional help.

all of them are broken. i tried to fix the one with the broken chip. the other one didn’t work at all so i opened it up (the platters along with some screws and stuff are in the tray on top of the peacock cage). the 80 MB drive (mounted on the bracket) spins up but then a few seconds later spins back down. the 40 MB drive with the broken chip spins up and works, but doesn’t let the computer pass the POST test.
